Dome lights stuck on

Dome lights stuck on
1999 B2500 pickup, 2wd reg cab, 4 cyl auto... Just got this truck, seems to be a problem with the dome lights not turning off (intermittently)... Thought to check the switches in the door jamb, except there are none? Several questions:
1) how does the thing know the doors are open/shut? is the switch inside the door wired to the latch or something?
2) is there a relay that controls the dome lights that could be sticking?
3) Truck has an alarrm/remote starter on it, but I have no information on it (factory installed, adftermarket, etc)... hopefully that is not part of the problem... Was this a factory option?
I do plan to get a manual and wiring diagram, but if anyone has seen anything like this I would appreciate hearing about it....

Thanks... Now I can't recreate the problem, it seems to only happen at night.. I am wondering if there is some security feature that is supposed to leave the dome lights on for a min or so at night, then turn them off? Maybe there is a timer/relay that is not working... Is there a photo-sensor somewhere that could tell night from day, that I could cover to simulate night? I looked on top of the dash, and I see a small hole near the windsheild base toward the passenger side, but there is nothing in the hole that I can feel. Very confused.....

I had a similar problem with both doors for my 98 b3000. my truck's dome light has been removed for what i assume a quick and dirty solution to the problem, but the door ajar light on the dash still would light up at all times.
a bit of wd40 into both door latches, where i assume the switch for the door ajar light resides, fixed the problem for me. the idea was that water had somehow made its way into the switching and the wd40 would displace it letting them work as intended.
ps, anyone know of a source for dome lights, preferably cheap/oem?
