I was just wondering if it would be ok if I replaced my ECM from my truck with an automatic trans., with an ECM from a truck with a standard trans. Well actually I already did and all my problems with my '92 B2200 F/I have disappeared. I had the "press the throttle and it dies" syndrome. So I replaced the ECM (as stated above) and it runs fine. I didn't drive it or anything, I just let it idle a while and rev'd it up a few times. Will I get error codes down the road or worse, ruin my transmission???

Is it 2 or 4 wheel drive??? The 2wd I think the only thing controlled by the computer is the torque converter lockup.. With the different ECM it probably won't lock up anymore.. WOn;t really harm much but it can hurt your highway economy a bit.. The 4x4 trans I believe is completely shifted electronically....
