Default Changing Lifters and Valve Seals - 93 B2200

Hi guys and gals

I recently purchased a 93 B2200 in very nice shape, with 120,000 miles on it. The truck has been very well maintained, but smokes very bad when its been sitting for a while, and has really bad lifter noise for a few seconds on startup.

How hard is it to change lifters in this engine? I'm well versed in disassembling V8 engines, but this is my first OHC engine to work on. Is there a DIY guide anywhere online? I have a Haynes manual, but its not very descriptive. Thanks for your help!

I have done several valve jobs in the past but I did not attempt this one I took it to my local mechanic and had my head repaired, there are a couple of special tools to do this job that could set you back quite a lot. You may be able to tackle it but I suggest taking it to your mechanic if you have one.
