Default Carb problem or worse??

For a couple of days my B2200 has been bogging down uphill and along the flat. Today just got real slow and just did not want to go when the light went green. Initial thoughts today was out or really low on gas. Two miles out and 3 blocks from where I would have liked to get to (my workshop) had to pull over and lift the hood. Walked to the shop and picked up a gallon of gas and went back. Poured most in the tank, took the air filter off and primed the throat. She fired up but did not roar into life. When I held the throttle open I could see raw gas spitting up and down. Is this a carb problem or have I slipped something in the timing train? What else?
Your thoughts please.. George

Check plugs, test HT leads, check distributor, check the quality of the spark, check ignition timing, check fuel flow & pressure, back flush & clean the carby.
