Default Can't get new Stereo to work in my B2200

1988 B2200. New Sony CD stereo receiver.

I'm using (aftermarket) factory connectors, toavoid hacking into the truck wiring. All four speaker wires are connected, as is the antenna cable. Stereo Red is connected to vehicle Red-black. Stereo yellow is connected to vehicle Blue-red, which is a separate connector. Stereo black is connected to vehicle ground.

When I turn the ignition switch, I hear the radio "Cycle" (<---makes a sound as though a CD is ejecting), but then it is unresponsive. Nothing.

The vehicle Blue-white (illumination) wire is not connected, as my stereo does not have an orange wire.

Am I wired wrong or do I have a stereo problem?

your wiring sounds right, stereo red to trucks red/black, yellow to trucks blue/red. you might have a malfunction in the stereo. here are the trucks color coded wires. you might have speakers wires hooked up wrong? idk
