B2200 Won't keep running - motor starts and dies
Can you help me? I have a 1988 B2200 with 104k miles on it.
It will start but as soon as the key is turned from the start position, the motor stops running. The motor will keep running as long as I periodically turn the key to start and nick the starter gear to the flywheel, so I'm guessing it's not gas.
Got any ideas?

Yep. This is the CLASSIC bad electrical portion of the ignition switch, these DO go bad on these trucks as they age. EXACT same symptoms mine had; I replaced such on my '88 about a decade ago. This is NOT the mechanical part of the ignition switch, so you still will retain the same key. This is in the electrical portion that sits under this. This is about a 1-hour repair; the steering wheel must come off, inexpensive threaded steering wheel puller or free AutoZone loaner.
104K miles - good for you !!!
