b2000 with issues
I have a 1987 b2000 with a few problems. First i just blew the head gasket, no big deal, i can fix that. The questions that i need answers for are for the carb and the ticking coming from the head. The choke has a wire that is not connected to anything and as a result, if i touch the throttle at all before it has been running for almost an hour, it revs way up and stays there til i pop the hood and flip the linkage down. The ticking in the top end is bad. Its present all the time. It seems to be worst when accelerating at low rpm and when letting out of the throttle while driving and in gear. It doesn't sound low enough in the engine to be a piston connecting rod. i have time to wait for a good answer because i still have to pick it up from impound for being "abandoned" on the side of the road overnight. And is there a way to simplify all the vacuum lines and make the engine bay look a little nicer? Also, is there a way to tell what engine it is? the title says the truck is a b 2000 but it has b2200 badges. I know it is a sohc with a carb but beyond that im not sure, how similar are the two engines, i need to buy parts soon.
