Default Alarm issues

I just got a used 96 B4000. It has a factory alarm in it. The alarm is very sensitive: goes off even if there is some noise in the neighborhood. This is getting to be a big problem. I would like to disable it and just lock the truck manually (use the power locks/key to lock it, key to unlock it). Any DIY instructions or must I take this to a dealer?

Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Alarm issues

Been there except i wanted to make mine more sensitive beacuse i have alot of work put into my car and don't wanting anyone to jack it. Well for one my car is a protege 5, but just a guess they should have the alarm panel in the same spot if you look up under the dash on the drivers side, you will need a flash light haha look up underneath and there should be a ver small black box about 1 inch by 1/2inch there is a white *** on it its very small alls you have to do is turn the *** clock wise to make it more sensitive or counter clockwise to make it less sensitive my *** is about at 3:00 so if a mororcycle rides by my car or if i park my car in the back aprking lot at the dealership i work at the highway noise will set my alarm off lol exspecially in downtown i love it. well i hope i was some help to you if you have any questions ask me....ryan ps lets jsut say my dad has a harley and he can't stand my alarm haha
