Default 93 B2600 Starts and immediatly stalls

Hi,
I have a 1993 Mazda B2600 with 120,000 miles. Truck runs great but in the past week when I go out to start it up in the morning it will start right up and then immediately stall. This will happen a couple times and then run fine until it sits for a while and I go to start it again. I've changed the cap & rotor just the past week, The fuel tank and pump are about 4 months old. I'm getting the feeling it runs out of fuel... Is there a check valve that keeps the fuel lines pressurized? Someone mentioned to me that the fuel cap could be faulty?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I just replaced the filter. Still having the same problem. I notice if I turn the key on and wait about 10 seconds before starting it will usually stay running.

I have a 91 2600i and have about the same problem. My truck will start then die. I can start it again but when I give it gas it will act as if it is running out of fuel. This will happen sometimes and other times it will run fine. If anyone has any ideas please let us know.

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. On cold starts an engine needs to run rich to idle properly. The fuel pressure regulator bumps the fuel pressure up when cold to achieve this. A vacuum leak can also cause this as well. The fact that you say you replaced the fuel pump and tank leads me to believe the pressure regulator is damaged also and you just didnt go far enough to solve the fuel system problems.

Ive had this problem a few weeks ago and it was because of corrosion on the ECM.

Update:
I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and I'm still having the same problems.
I also checked the ECM and connections they seem to be in good shape no corrosion what so ever.

i had similar problems with an 89 toyota 4 runner. i started at the fuel pump, then filter, then i checked for spark, none were the issue. it would fire fine, start for 4 or 5 seconds, then stall out. it turned out to be electrical. i couldn't believe it. corroded wires in the "main harness"... 3 hours worth of diagnostic labour is all it cost me.

Thanks for the info Clicheche09, I'm still working at it. The problem seems like fuel to me, but I'm willing to try anything at this point. the saga continues...

Update: Tested the fuel relay and it test ok. Does anyone know if the fuel pump starts when the key is on or when cranking?
