Default 93 2600 fan / a/c problem

1993 B2600i with a/c.
Out of nowhere my fan quit working on 1 and 2. The fan will work on 3 and 4.
the a/c will only come on when in 1 or 2. Which is where the blower don't work. When you go to 3 or 4 the blower comes on and the a/c kicks off. Any ideas?
Thanks.

This is likely related to the blower resistors located on the outside of the evaporator case under the dashboard, passenger side.

Default As Long As We're On the Subject...

On my B2600i, the fan works okay, but the AC compressor won't come on when I push the AC button on the dash. It WILL come on when it gets 12V via a jumper wire to the battery. Fuse is okay so I figure the relay might be the next thing to check. Anyone know where that might be located?
Thanks much.

Actually, I'd check out that switch itself. It pulls out toward the rear. When I bought my B2200in '94 it was working intermittantly, and I had to clean it out. My question is (at night, when it can be seen): does the light in the switch come on when you push it in? It should, if it's working.

Yes! The light comes on but only on speeds one or two where the fan don't work ( and you can hear the compressor clicking on.) When you go to 3 or 4 speeds the light goes off, compressor clicks off and blower comes on.

coincidentally there is a heater/fan switch up for auction on Ebay right now. It's item number 220121299553 and therewere no bids on it when I looked at it just minutes ago. It's from a '91 B2600i and I don't know about fitting your '93 but it's worth looking at. Minimum bid is $24 or so and they want $12 shipping (rip off).

Ebay may be the place. Dealer wants $75 for the fan switch and $45 for the resistor.
