My truck came with A/C and the truck seems to blow very cool air when the temp switch is turned to cold. I've tried recharging the A/C but the guages states that the A/C does not need any recharging. so, I found that when i turn on the A/C, it does seem that the A/C compressor goes on. What do you think could be the problem? I your guys help!

 

OK, the air comes in cold - what's the issue?

 

What i mean is that the truck doesn't blow cold air it blows only cool air, like the outside air. and vents are closed...

 

If your AC pressures are OK, and your temperatures coming out the vents are not cold, you may be leaking heat from the heater core. These trucks always route coolant through the heater box, full time, and possibly your shut-off flap or "door" is not closing completely, so hot air is getting mixed in. These are cable operated, you may need a helper to push the lever from "heater" to "vent" and see if the cable actually moves a rod which goes to the flap (you'll need to lie under the dash, and look up at the console, and maybe from both driver and passenger sides). Or you could use a piece of heater hose in the engine compartment at the fireallto bypass the entire heater core (that's what I do in the summer, I'm in Arizona, and my '88 leaks a little hot air in if I don't do that). I think if your fan clutch was bad (I've replaced mine twice) that your AC pressures would be high, but you could tryspraying a water hose over the front condenser/radiator to see if that helps, to diagnose that.

 

its not the vents, i checked them and it fully close.

 

do you think it could be a/c compressor. it does seem like it goes on?
