91 B2600 cruise control
My 91 B2600 (5spd/4x4) with about 92K miles has cruise control, but it does not work. The cruise control main light turns on when I push the button, but when I try to use the turn signal stalk to set it nothing happens. I don't know if the computer by the right passenger door has anything to do with this, but I replaced it when I bought the truck and the cruise has never worked. I guess I might just be asking too much of a 16 yr old truck though. Thanks.

RE: 91 B2600 cruise control
I had the same problem with the cruise not working but I didn't replace the module. I discovered the vacuum line from the cruise vacuum actuator was swapped with another vacuum line. Once I moved this line directly to thearea of the intake manifold closest to the fire wall, where many other vacuum lines are also located, the cruise started working. So far my experiences with electrical problems have been with the ecm and loose connectors. The other electronics seem fairly solid.Go to this link for the vacuum lines routing. http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/g...3d8019f951.gif Good luck!

RE: 91 B2600 cruise control
I checked all the vacuum lines and electrical connections, all seem good. Do you know how to troubleshoot this system or should I just start replacing parts? One easy thing I thought of doing was to tighten the cable that runs from the actuator to the gas pedal, but I don't think that this is the problem. Any ideas?

RE: 91 B2600 cruise control
does the actuator hold vacuum? y/n
use a vacuum pump or squeeze it and plug the fitting see if it stay squeezed
then check the brake switch and clutch switch maybe damaged or rotten from moisture

eflores - I installed the Audiovox aftermarket cruise control (about $100, from Autozone) on my carbed '88 B2200. I even have it hooked up now to my new Weber on it. Works fine, didn't need an extra vacuum cannister.
