'89 B2200 Engine Spits and Sputters
 

I have an '89 B2200 that I had the engine rebuilt on. At the same time I had the original carburetor rebuilt (I'm beginning to think this was a mistake). Now the engine is hard to get started, will not run at an idle unless you baby it to just the right spot, dies when you accelerate hard, dies when you release the accelerator after slowly accelerating, will not run over about 35 MPH, and spits and sputters the whole way. I've checked all the vacuum lines several times and they are all in the correct locations. It all seems to be pointing back to the carburator. I want to be pretty sure that this is the problem before I replace the carburetor. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

sounds like carb to me if its not vac line. whoever rebuilt it ****ed it up or it was ****ed before and the guy never did a thing to it. I am in canada and I got a weber 32/36 dgev off of ebay for 350 shipped with duties, it was under 300 if i was inside the boarder. I'd go for that, its easy as pie to install. only thing to worry about is if it has the proper jets. if not your in my boat and have to spring for the kit that costs 60 dollars with a whole jam of jets and nozzles and doodads.
