I just bought a 1989 B2200. It had the knock when I bought it guy said he drove it around for 8 months with the knock. I'm trying to figure out what it could be I have read on some sites that the older mazdas did that and that it was nothing to worry about it will just wear out faster or something like that and there wasn't a recall. I'm not sure if anyone has run into this problem with their old mazda truck. If someone can help please let me know. Thank you

 

well to answer ur question i have a 90 b2200 2.2 carb. after i had the head redone. ive had this tap couldnt figure it out. went to a couple garages and they didnt know. so i took the valve cover off and here to find out it was the cam bearing tapin. may sound weird but that wat it is. i havent had a problem with the truck yet. just sounds like a time bomb. lol my friend has a 89 and it taps as well so i realy wouldnt worry about it. i just started usin heavier oil and it calmed it down
