89 to 93 engine swap
 

Hello, New to the forums but looking for some help. I have a 1989 B2600i 4x4 that is having rust and other minor issues that will end up nickel and diming me to death. I found a 1993 B2600i truck that has a blown engine but everything else on the truck seems good. I was wondering if I could swap my engine and transmission from my 89 to the 93? What else would I need to change or problems could I run into. Both are fuel injected and 5 speed. My engine trans only has about 150k on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm - quick answer is "maybe". The 1989 B2600i was the first year of those, uses different ignition electronics than the 1990-1993 trucks.
