2001 B2300 Thermostat stuck open?
Hello all,
I believe the thermostat in my 2001 B3200 is stuck open. A day or two ago the check engine light came on at the same time my heater stopped sending any hot air into the cabin and my engine temp barely registers even after being on for a looong time. I also noticed my milage just dropped like a rock.
My understanding is that a thermostat is generally an easr and cheap part to change out, however when looking for parts online I'm seeing quotes at $130++ for my truck's thermostat. Is this right?
How much should I expect to have to pay, ballpark, to get this fixed if I take it to a shop?
Why is the b2300 thermostat so much more expensive than for the other trucks? Can i get away with using a b2500 thermostat in there? It's only like $11.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!

RE: 2001 B2300 Thermostat stuck open?
I checked on autozone.com and found that they have a thermostat for 24.99 and the only reason I can find that the labor would be so expensive on this job is that that model has an electric fan thermostat, which are pains to change, and a b2500 t-stat will not work due to presets in the electrical and things of this nature.
