Default 2.5 to 2.2
will a 2.2 manual trans fit a 2.6 engine?

Not a drop in. The 2.6 transmissions is different, and so is the engine wiring/computer, etc. But anything is possible with enough $$$, effort, $$$, time, and $$$. Did I mention $$$ ???
