1999 B2500 wont start.
I have a 1999 B2500 which wont start.
When it turns over it seems to have a skipping motion. I first thought a timing belt or it skipped time. I check the marks and all seem good.
My next though is a crank position sensor, but its a b*** to get to. I am currently trying to find a wiring diagram to check for voltage.
It doesnt seem to be a fuel filter or fuel related. The fuel rail has pressure.
I am not getting any codes.

ok, I checked the crank sensor and it ohm'd out correctly and getting voltage out put.
I dont see a cam sensor yet, maybe not one on the engine?
I still dont have any codes. this seems strange.
I also check for voltage to the coil pack and its good. I havnt worked on many engines with two plugs per cylinder, but maybe a coild pack. I would think it would give me a code.

Well I tried the cam shaft sensor and no change. Appartmently it only should be putting out .1 volts ac.
I checked and made sure the EGR is closed during start.
Next going to check timing. If I can fugure this out. I really wish I had a manual.

I am having trouble with mine starting, but only off and on. It starts and runs well, then out of the blue it just won't start. After waiting a while 15-30 minutes, it will usually start again. I can't even think of what could be causing it. It's more pronounced when it's hot out. Anyone have any ideas what to look at? It is a 2000, standard . Any help would be appreciated. 2.5 ltr I think.

Mine ended up being a blown head gasket. The gasket was a total failure between 1-2-3 cylinders. Never blew into the coolant or oil so we didnt notice while running at all. Just wasnt ever able to get commpression again. Good luck.
