Default 1998 B2500 Cat Con. ?

Hey Everyone, a few years ago I bought a 1998 Mazda B2500 Standard cab Pickup, I bought it in Texas. Problem is I live here in California. Now, I have gone to several Muffler shops so I can register the truck her in California. Currently, the truck has no Cats. My only issue is that I keep getting mixed answers from many different people saying 2 Cats and 1 Cat.!!! Can someone please confirm the number I need. I am going to start college in a few days and really need to get this issue resolved.

4 cylinder or V6?
My 2006 V6 has 2 pre-cats and 1 main rear cat. Some V6's have had 2 pre-cats (1 on each side of engine attached to exhaust manifold) and 2 main rear cats (total 4).

4 cylinder should only be 2.

To purchase cats try Magnaflow, click on California: The Official Site of MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - Exhaust Systems For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles
