1990 b2200 carburetor conversion
hello all, new guy. i found a site that looks like you guys can help me. i have a 1990 mazda b2200 and i am sick of the factory carb. i see a weber conversion, but do not want to spend the $400 dollars for it as this is my daily driven, gas saven, work/play truck. what can i do to have a reliable conversion without spending and arm and a leg. i just rebuilt the engine in this thing and (i believe) the old carb is making it run ruff.

That is about your only easy bet. You can try converting to a Holley 5200 which was a liscensed copy of the weber 32/36 but since it was used on production cars there are hundreds of different versions with different linkages, tuning, emission devices, solenoids, etc... The ones I recommend trying to adapt are off of the old Mustang II and Pintos but it will require some decent know how and some tools to do it and your probably still looking at $150-$200 to do it. Three guys on my forum have attempted it and just gave in and baught a weber. I know it can be done though because I have one on my truck and am quite happy with it.
