Default 1989 mazda b2200

have an 89 b2200 currently equipped with electronic ignition and a carburetor. i want to convert it to fuel injection and a distributorless ignition. does anyohne have any ideas?

Sounds like would be a very large in depth job unless there are aftermarket kits available. You would need new computer, wire harness, intake manifold as well as all of the sensors needed to operate a fuel injection system like throttle sensor, crank position, etc.

My best advice would be check out a bone yard (used parts). Swap out an engine that has the fuel injection and all the associated parts. Making the conversion on your own, piece by piece would be really time consuming and $$$$$!

As for the the ignition, if it were me I'd start by contacting Bosch and get their advice. They may have something straight forward and relatively easy to install.

I'm no expert, but unless some one has a better idea (and some one very well might) this is how I'd proceed.

P.S. My the by, B2200 is fuel injected.
