Default 1981 Ford Courier/B2000 Fuse Block Problems

Hi.

I keep getting electrical problems, with the horn, the lights, once even the ignition went out. My mechanic has jury-rigged a repair on this more than several times, and I was satisfied. However these problems keep recurring usually every six to eight weeks.

My mechanic says the fuse block is worn out and there are no new blocks available any more, and the car might be ready for the junk yard.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a rewiring solution for it?

Is there a source for aftermarket fuse blocks that are best to adapt to this vehicle?

Does anyone know a source for a replacement fuse block?

This is the small fuse block that holds about twelve fuses mounted in the engine compartment on top of the driver's side wheel well.

Thanks in advance.

Fuse boxes usually wont go out the fuses themselves will. The spade connectors on the inside of the box may be corroded. Find some kind of corrosion remover and clean the box out. make sure to remove the battery cables from the battery first.
