Need help with mx3 1995 transmission

hi every one just joined in and have a question if some one can help me with it. i bought mx3 1995 200km on it bought it from a blind auction sale which have a DOHC 16 valve engine in it i don't know whats the size of engine and automatic transmission. it was parked for long time probably more then 6 months and it was very low on transmission fluid but filled it up but have problem with transmission 1st reverse is not working and neither does D gear work but when i leave it start for 15-30minutes then i can drive in D but feels like very hard to drive and 3rd if i drive on D the gas pedal gauge goes all the way upto 7(x1000) then change to 2nd gear. does it mean my transmission is shot and dead. or something wrong with engine ? thanks in Advance for helping

So to clarify, the transmission does not work when cold but once the engine warms up it does work then but not too good. Does it move in all gears (1st, 2nd, 3rd & D) when you have only that gear selected? When it does work it shifts as if your accelerating hard all the time so it shifts very late correct? Is it leaking any? Does the car actually have 200km or 200,000km or 200,000 miles? Transmissions dont like to be parked for long periods of time without use, seals tend to go dry and leak internally or externally, this can result in low internal pressures which keep the transmission from working correctly.

thanks for your reply. yah it does move in all gears except reverse and yah shift very late like the accelerator gauge goes all the way up to 7 then it change while its in D gears and it does leaking oil from both transmission and engine and the car have only 203000km on it! thanks

That is alot of kms (126,138 miles) for an original trans, I bet it needs a rebuild.

i found some used trans its all over 150000km on it and what could be rebuild ?

They would tear it apart, replace all seals, most likely replace the clutch discs and possibly the plates, check and possibly repair/replace the valve body. I dont know how much this would cost but when I had the C4 in my first car rebuilt it cost me about $700, needed new everything, anything that could be worn out was. I imagine this would cost $1k-$1500, a used trans might solve all your problems for a year and then also blow up, used trannys, especially with that mileage are a gamble on if you get a good one or an abused one.
