mx-6 cruise control

mx-6 cruise control
i have a 1995 mx6 ls, and whenever i put the turn signals on, the cruise control shuts off. i can easily set the cruise control, but when i put on either the right or left blinker (its never both), the cruise control shuts off and i have to reset it. what is the cause of this?
