How to Adjust idle on MX6
 
please, i need help adjusting my idle on my 1994 Mazda Mx-6 LS V6.. it idles kinda low, like about 550-700 rpm, i wanna turn it up to about 900-1000rpm. does anyone know how to adjust this????thank for any help.... John

Specs for the V6 idle speed are 650 +/- 100 rpm so sounds like you are right in there. You can try to adjust base idle speed up but the computer may overide and try to drop down to 650.
To adjust base idle speed you need to locate the DIAGNOSIS connector which is a small gray or black box just in front of the main fuse box in left front corner of engine compartment. Usually has DIAGNOSIS imprinted into the top. Pin location and designation on underside of cover. You will need to ground the TEN pin as shown in the first drawing with engine idling to start. Once that is done then rotate the air bypass screw as shown in the second drawing counterclockwise to raise idle speed. Remove the ground at the TEN pin and see if idle will stay elevated.
