Engine Swap?
So, after some discussion with my parents, we seem to have come to the perfect solution to the world's problems. My dad has an 87 B2000 that is a piece of crap but runs well. I have a '94 MX-3 1.6L 4-cyl. that looks nice but runs like **** (sometimes). The car has 131,000 miles, the truck has 115,000 miles on it. Both are 5-speeds. What are the odds that my dad's engine would fit in my car? It would be a cheaper alternative for me than getting the Corvette V8 that I want, while still solving my oil, vacuum line, and piston ring problems. And, my mom wouldn't have to look at the eyesore known as the truck anymore. Thoughts?

RE: Engine Swap?
Trying to adapt a rear drive carb engine to a front wheel drive fuel injected would be quite a feat and not hardly worth it due to the mileage on the truck engine.[sm=badidea.gif] How about this. Take the $2000-$3000 that would be needed to make the swap,, sell both MX-3 and B2000 and you should have plenty for a decent down payment on the Vet.[sm=exactly.gif]

RE: Engine Swap?
I was actually going to put the V-8 in the MX-3, not buy the Vett. I didn't even think of the carb/FI issues....thanks, I'll break the news to my mom at Easter. And she was so happy to see the truck going away....poor mom.
