93 MX6 wont go into gear when cold?

We recently purchased a 93 Manual MX6. It shifted fine when we test drove it, however when the car is cold it does not go into gear or is very difficult. When the car is warm it goes into gear, however even though the car is warm when the tempurature drops outside it becomes very difficult to shift. We have already bled the clutch and replaced the transmission fluid. It does go into gear easily when the car is turned off. Any ideas?

RE: 93 MX6 wont go into gear when cold?

What type of fluid did you use when changing the trans fluid? Although it calls for either Dexron ATF or 75W-90 and the oil may be too thick. If it gets cold enough where you are, then the fluid will get too thick and make it difficult to shift. I have always used the ATF in other Mazda transmissions with no problem.
