Mazda MX-3 and Mazda MX-6 These two sporty models have become popular cars for import tuners due to the availability of parts, the low price, and the smooth lines.

Default 1993 MX6 - How did I do?

I picked up a 93 MX6 over the weekend. It is in pristine condition. It was repainted, re-upholstered in red-on-black Katzkin leather, recarpeted, had the engine and clutch replaced, and has a $1000+ aftermarket stereo system all within the last few years. The car has 86k miles, and the engine has 80k miles. The asking price was 4k. I talked him down to 3k. I am not experienced in valuing a car with so much aftermarket modification, but I think I got a great deal. What do you think?

Pics are attached.

Default Good Looking car

He was over ambitious with $4000, so I think $3000 is good. Sharp lookingcar, I would be curious to know why the engine swap happened. He may of put aKLZE (Jap Spec Engine) that has a BHP of 200. If that is the case then you gota steal IMO. Enjoy your new car. It will go over 200k miles if its the A-spec engine, double your mileage now for the J-spec.

He said that he had some performance upgrades installed in the old engine, and the belt was not properly tensioned, and the old engine was blown. The new engine is an A spec, not a J spec.
