Default 93 Mazda MX6 2.0L Manual Trans.

I'm a new member and need help please. My car stalled 2 days ago while on traffic. Tried re-starting but won't start (it cranks though with strong battery).
Just have my timing belt replaced 8 months ago and just replaced with new fuel filter yesterday. Figured it might be the problem. Still won't start. Do you think
it's my fuel line or fuel pump or electrical. Read some emails from BABYHUEY about checking diagnosis and came up with 2 long flash on CEL, 8 short flashes and 2 short flash.
I figured it could be a 28 digit code but what is the 2 last flashes. What does these codes mean. How do I figure out where to look. Need Help anyone? Thanks!!

The first thing to do when this happens is to find out if you lack spark or fuel before anything else. Then you will know which road to take.

The DTC 28 means EGR valve control solenoid. This will not keep it from running.

It will also be helpful to know the year and engine size too.

Thanks for the tip. I was told to check my fuel pump and it's fine. Upper hose removed and turn key to on and it squirts gas. To check for sparks, will it crank at all if spark plug wires are bad? Besides their farely new.
Do you think it could be the distributor? Thanks for responding. By the way it's a 1993 Mazda Mx6 with a 2.0 liter engine and your dancing icon looks cool!

To check fuel pressure properly, you need a fuel pressure gauge. The easiest way to check if it is a fuel problem, squirt a little bit of carb cleaner in the intake. If it runs for a moment, it is a lack of fuel. Easiest way to check for spark is to use a screwdriver. Remove a plug wire from the spark plug and put a screwdriver into the end and have a buddy crank it while holding it about a 1/4" away from the engine. If you get no spark, or a weak spark then you know where to look. A distributor is a possibility or even a coil.
