Real Mazda Newbie here: How do you check the trans fluid?
Hello all!
I'm new to this forum and new to Mazdas. I just purchased a 1996 mx-6 as a fix-up project. I was told that it was leaking transmission fluid; so I went to put some fresh fluid in before shifting through gears and trying to find the leak. Then came the real shock: no transmission dipstick! (Yeah, I'm used to domestic vehicles.) I was hoping that someone might be able to give me some direction on how to check/fill transmissin fluids, or where I might be able to find some engine diagrams for my car.
Thanks!

If your Mx6 is a V6, there is no dip stick. Theres a 29mm(I think) bolt thats on the front side of the tranny. unscrew it and basically stick a funnel in it and fill it till it starts to leak out. Screw the bolt back and that's it. Again, that's for the V6.
