Your MPV

I've had a 1993 MPV for six years now. The experience has been fascinating from many standpoints. What has been your MPV experience?

Got my MPV in 2006. It was a '93 with 140,000 miles on it and no rust. Spent its life in Arizona. My 1988 Mercury Tracer (nee Mazda 323) had just died. My requirements for 7 passenger/4WD were completely met by this vehicle. If I'd invested all the money I've spent on it on another vehicle I'd probably still be in the same shape. Only drive it once a week now.

This from a post in New Members thread:
Well this one (1993 MPV 4WD) sure wouldn't be lasting very long without my constant proffering of money to a variety of repair shops over the last 6 years. Transmission, u-joints, alternators (3), drive shaft, rear air shocks, impossible to get to hoses, sheared key on timing wheel, distributor, oil seals everywhere. Easily four times the 2006 purchase price.

Why do I keep it? I work for the Postal Service. I need a 4WD vehicle. And a people hauler for the extended family. Difficult to find that combination now.

And I haven't seen one of these on the road in a very long time so they're quite rare. Always a plus in my book.
