torque specs and oil pan question
can someone pls give me the torque specs for the nuts/bolts circled below?
thx and is there an online repair manuel floating around somewhere? and can the oil pan be removed without yanking the engine out, cuz it's leaking a decent amount of oil. thx edit: this is for a 97 model http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/4404/mvc329f9wv.jpg http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/2227/mvc336f5on.jpg |
RE: torque specs and oil pan question
17 ft/lbs will cover all of the bolts listed. 14-19 is actual specs. Never pulled an oil pan on a 3.0l of that year. Sure it is not the front cam/crank seals? Leak from there should be visible at the lower sides of the timing covers. Have replaced more of these for oil leaks more than can shake a stick at. Somtimes looks like pan leak as the oil follows the gasket surface around the pan.

RE: torque specs and oil pan question
Front cam seals will show leakage at the very front of the engine near the plastic timing covers. Look above the front crankshaft pulley on the sides of the engine. If oil is found above the oil pan line then you probably have front cam and-or crank seals leaking

RE: torque specs and oil pan question
Had a 95 v6 in today with front seals leaking on right side. Will see if I can send picts for you. If two picts dont post them let me know how to do it as I never have.
