2000 MPV P0106 - EGR Valve?
Hello,
I am new to this forum and am the original owner of a 2000 MPV ES with 90,000 miles. I have been trying to fix the issue causing my CEL to light due to code P0106. The van runs and idles smooth.
There is no vacuum at the EGR vacuum port when idling or at higher RPM's. I cleaned out the port with a drill bit till the bit was completely in the port (about 1.5"). I also took off the intake manifold and cleaned out the carbon deposits in the upper intake and what I could get out of the lower intake (it was nasty).
I believe the solenoid valve is ok (clicks when energized). I also got a used boost sensor on ebay and it made no difference.
Also, I took off the solenoid from the EGR valve and opened (I think) the valve by depressing the spring while the engine was running. Engine speed did not change when I did this. This makes me suspect the EGR valve is clogged but I get no codes related to EGR flow (just the P0106).
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have the exact same problem, the only thing I haven't done is get a new boost sensor. Otherwise, I've tried everything you have and I'm still getting a P0106
Mine is a 2000 also, LX with about 130k. I'm getting vacuum through the EGR valve, to the solenoid, and through the solenoid to the boost sensor when energizing the solenoid.

Thanks for reply, no luck for me yet
Hey,
Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried anything more except to clean out the EGR vacuum port a little more. Still no change. I'm still considering replacing the EGR valve but haven't gotten around to it. Van runs fine so it's not high on the priority list.
Thanks again.
