MPV will not idol

What we have done so far... It began as a water leak. Took off intake, exhaust manifolds, replaced hose on back side of intake, put everything back together and it will start but will not idol. The only way to get it to stay on is to hold the throttle at half way. The mass air flow sensor was not removed or disconnected so this can't be the problem. By the way, we also put on a new distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have my father in law over here working on it. He has to drive over an hour to get here so it would be great if I could get some help while he is here. Thanks

RE: MPV will not idol

Sure sounds like a large vaccum leak from something not being reconnected scottlandfever. Check and make sure the PCV valve hose at back of intake is hooked up as well as large hose to brake booster.
Also if the intake manifold was off then the Idle Air Control Valve on the throttle body was unplugged so make sure it was reconnected. It should run just off idle though if the IAC is not plugged in so double check any vacuum lines that weredisconnected.
