mazda mvp 03 running like !
 

Hi. My MVP 03 cylinders (right side) #5 and #6 are not firing. It has new plugs, tube seals, valve cover gaskets, manifold gaskets and hoses I found old were replaced. I looked through the wiring harness for bad wires and separated and taped a few. I removed, cleaned and new seals the injectors. The coils were checked and one was replaced. I have checked for fire, fuel, and compression. It all seems to be fine. The computer says o2 bank1 sensor1 and I havnt replaced yet. Will the o2 cause the pistons not to work? I dont get it.

I went through a similar problem with my 04 MPV and more recently with my Ford F150. Both turned out to be more than one coil was bad. Seems to be very common problem with the ford coils. Also, it is possible to get a new coil that is bad out of the box.

I would replace all of the coils (and plugs while you are at it). I was able to pick up a set for around $100 on Ebay. The coils sold on Ebay by Global Automotive have been mentioned on other forums as being good quality. They are the ones I used and now the problem is fixed.
