Mazda MPV LW5W-GF Could not find OBD

Model : LW5W-GF (Import from Japan.)
Year : 2000 cc: 2500 Petrol

I just bought one second hand MPV a few days ago. I loves the interior design and outlook of it. After driving for few days, i noticed the fuel consumption is very high average at 2.5km/liter city driving.

Seen posts saying that to check OBD and it might be the O2 sensors giving problems. Been to my mechanic and we couldn't find the OBD at all for 4 hours searching. Found the ECU under the front passenger dash but not the OBD.

When starting up the car, didnt see any Check Engine lights up at all therefore confused whether this MPV even got any check engine light indicator?

The idling is good but the smells of the exhaust fume seems vey strong (too lean i suppose)

Now, there's ECU but no OBD point, so how i do go about to check what's wrong with this MPV that drinks petrol like water?

I have Mercedes E260 with V engine 2600 cc and the fuel consumption only half of the MPV.

My question:

1) Wheres the OBD?
2) Is there any check engine light?
3) How to solve extremely high fuel consumption matter?

Please assist me in this matter... Really appreciate if could solve the matter.

Being a Jap import, it may have the earlier OBD plug under the bonnet. Usually in the LHS of the engine bay behind or beside the LH strut tower.
