Driver side window

I have a 2000 mpv and recently the right rear window started acting up. by the way, they are automatic. Sometimes the window will go up and down and sometimes it wont. Right now it is working. However, the drivers side window stopped working. I was bringing it up and it went about 4 inches and stopped. I checked the fuse and it was o.k.. Can anyone give me some idea of what may be wrong? I know it could be a motor gone bad, but are there other possibilities? Thanksin advancefor the help!

RE: Driver side window

Could be off track, but not enough to fall. My only suggestion would be to take door apart.

It happened to me once. It was dirty contacts on side door switches. I took them apart and cleaned them. It worked good after that. This can be tested by trying to rolling up and down from both doors.

RE: Driver side window

If this is occuring on the rear window only then check the electrical connections between the door and body. These connections are on lower front edge of door and look like fat spring loads rods with a tapered tip. Try cleaning the connections on the door and on the body with either a very very fine steel wool or scotchbrite pad that you would use to wash dishes. Corrosion buildup on these contacts is not uncommon for rear windows not working as the amperage draw requirement is somewhat high for window motors and need to have good clean, solid contacts.
