Default Driver side front axle shaft

I'm replacing the driver's side front axle shaft on my 98 MPV 4x4. I have the hub assembly and everything all removed already. The axle shaft is just hanging there, but I can't get it to come out. I have done the passenger's side before, and that wasn't too bad, but this one won't budge. Does anybody have any tips or advice? Is it the same set up as the pass. side, with a clip inside the axle housing, that just needs to be compressed and will pop out? Like I said, when I did the pass. side a while back, it didn't seem to be the difficult. Also, there is a much better prying point on the pass. side. Is there a way to get better leverage?
Thanks,
Sean

Just for the Record, I got it out this morning, and the new one back in.
