Coffee spilled in dash - HELP PLEASE
 

I have a 2000 MPV and while getting in with two cups of coffee one hit the door frame and landed on the dash. Coffee poured down the side and down the front where the dash meets the windshield.

The next day the brake-lock solenoid won't work so I can't shift into gear from park unless I pop the cap over the steering wheel and manually release the lock, the littlesquare around the gear indicator is gone so once I do get into gear I can't tell which one I'm in, the radio is dead, and the electric mirrors don't work, and yet no fuses appear to be blown.

How best to proceed? How do you remove the whole dash? I want to open it up and clean out any connectors that may have been soaked. Anyone know how to open the big white and blue connectors that seem to have a grey pin mechanism on the side?

Double check the 15 amp CIGAR fuse in the underdash fuse box. This fuse blown would cause all of the problems you are describing as well as a glovebox light not working.
Would avoid having to remove the dash if at all possible. Coffee should not be conductive once it has dried up. Pulling a dash on a late model MPV is a major pain in the rear. Was without doubt installed thru the windshield opening befor the glass was put in.

Hey babyhuey - THANKS - the cigar fuse was blown and has corrected the situation.

FYI - in addition to the faults above, the van was not shifting into either 1st or 4th gear.Unbelievable that this many circuits are all hooked thru that fuse!
