Default Check Engine P0400

I have a check Engine light on an MPV MY1996. The OBD2 displays error code P0400 and an Evaporative Emission ??. Could this be due to a bad O2 sensor or something else I should look at. TIA for any help.

No, not o2 sensor.

The evaporative system controls gasoline fumes. First make sure the gas cap is properly put on. Check the seals on the cap and tighten it properly.

There is also a carbon canister probably under the hood. Make sure the lines to and from that canister are in good shape.

I hope that helps. I never had this issue in any of my cars, so I may overlook something.

Thank you. I will look in those areas. The Gas cap is relatively new, but I will check to make sure its in good shape. I am not sure where the carbon canister is located but I will look for it under the hood as well as check other hoses around.
