Car wants to stall when put in gear.
 

Car will not idle when in gear it just want's to go . It starts up fine dosen't seem to be idleing high at all but put it in forward or reverse and it just wants to go, it will stall if you keep your foot on the brake. I'm wondering if its a problem with the trottle body , idle advance ?

From your description it sounds like the torque converter is remaining in lockup.

Hixx thanks for the reply. I ran the obd 11 scan tool on it today and got one code p1743 torque converter clutch solenoid circuit. I guess I'll have to get the shop repair manual to test that circuit unless anyone knows a way to check or fix it ?

sorry for the slow reply, it's a 98. I called the dealer yesterday they said that they wouldn't even touch it if I took it in , they said it would be easier to put in a new or used tranny.
Also I forgot to mention that the overdrive light is flashing also.
The dealer sead the clutch solenoid was $457
