Back from 1st dealer visit..a couple of questions
 

The van was making a strange noise, anytime I was on gas, cruise or passing. To me it sounded like knocking.
took the van in and was told that the belt pulley had to be replaced. They also changed teh windshield cause the rubber seal around it was coming apart, and as soon as they took the seal apart and removed the windshield, it cracked.
I just wanted to ask if these were "common" issues?

2ndly, the rear brake makes a loud humming noise when i have the van in reverse and am trying to stop.
any idea what that could be?

well, the first part, i don't know, i'm not sure. sorry.
but the hum, or rubbing noise your brakes make in reverse is normal, alot of cars do that, i can't explain why, but it's normal - nothing to worry about.
