2005 MPV hesitates to go after coming to a stop
 

My 2005 mpv has been running rough for a while now, found hole in vaccum line and fixed that problem.Now the engine light is on and sometimes flashes while driving, the most noticeable problem is when i stop at stop light, etc. it does not want to go.Was told to try new plugs but looking at some other posts seems to be a possible ignition coil problem.How can i check the coils or is this gonna be another one of those dealer stick it to me deals.Any help is very appreciated.

any mechanic can change a coil pack if you don't want to do it yourself. that is the same problem i had on my 04 and that's all it was.

Does it continue to hesitate or surge once underway?Does a light foot on the gas pedal (as opposed to stomping on it) seem to help acceleration and reduce the symptoms? Has it stalled at intersections, but restarted w/o too much trouble?
If so, it could also be the MAF sensor.
