Default 2004 MPV- Airbag code 18 - HELP !!!

I have spent hours looking for a Code 18 for my 2004 MPV.

I can't find an 18 anywhere on the web.... it's definitely one flash, a pause, and 8 quicker flashes.

I just failed my MA inspection and need help.

There is no code 18 in this list, double check to make sure that is really what your getting. Also try to unhook the battery for a while (10-15 mins) and reconnect it, the SRS system has its own capacitor/battery backup but it isnt too large, really only for if your in a crash and the batt is destroyed and you get hit again e.t.c.

Also check your PASSENGER airbag light, if its not working it will throw a light on your side, code 1818.

Bingo...you got it. I thought it was repeating a code 18 x 2. its actually an 1818.

I just spent another hour checking all the connectors I could reach and pulling the battery again. I just realized the passenger side airbag light was not activating. I just came back in to check the forums for "no pass. airbag light.

I was able to get the middle console open enough to fiddle with the light connection and that didn't work.

Any other ideas? Are there any in-line fuses anywhere? I checked all the fuses in the two boxes and they were all good.

thx

Found the bulbs at Advanced Auto 2 for $5. It worked. In the last I have gotten rid of a CEL and an SRS light for $9. I can't imagine what it would have cost at the dealership.

Thx
