2000 Mazda MPV heater problem

I wonder if any 2000 MPV owner has this heater problem.

Even with the heater control on high, there is barely any heat coming out of the air vents. In fact, the center vent on the dashboard blows out cold air.

- Blower fans (front and rear) working perfectly.
- The coolant circulation is working perfectly.
- No radiator leaks.
- No blown fuse.

Any suggestion and help is really appreciated. Thanks

There may be a problem with the blend door. The blend door is responsible for mixing fresh or cooled air with the heated air to achieve the selected temperature (and or dryness when you select defrost).
In some cars the actuator fails and in others the door itself fails.MPVClub.com :: Mazda MPV TSB details

Thanks for the info. I wonder if you know of any DIY steps to replace the blend door actuator?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't have instructions. Try google searches, that's how I found instructions for the ford Windstar.

Are there separate blend door actuators for the front and rear heaters?
Where are they located?
I can find no references about this online. Not even a single diagram. Does anyone here knows?

Thanks. But it only shows the airflow mode door and air mix door. The culprit here is the actuator motor that controls the doors as mentioned in this service manual: http://am.mazdaserviceinfo.com/emazd...334-10-99C.pdf which I've just found. But the location of the motor is not indicated.

Apparently they are vacuum motors. It makes only sense for them to be attached to 6 and 7 in the diagram of my previous reply.

When I turn the heat on the drivers side only kicks out cold - Fixya

I thought it was the blend door on my 04 Jeep Wrangler and replaced the part. Turns out I had a clog in my heater core. My fix was to disconnect at the thermostat. Took a hose and flushed it out. Heat is great now.

On my 04 MPV, everything works fine with NO heat. Leaking radiator fluid, found the leak near spare tire under the van. Expensive item to replace so I've been adding fluid when low, this is a short term fix that resolves heat issue. I check weekly but eventually I know my days are numbered...
