1997 MPV 3.0 to 929S Swap

Hello first time poster, first time Mazda Owner. So far I am in love! Bought this for the Gambler 500 for $400, threw some cheap tires on it and it goes anywhere! Anyways..

I searched but didn't find much and was hoping to get some pointers on swapping a 929S motor for the 3.0 that's in my MPV. The intent is just a bit more power for climbing hills/mountains (which I do 80% of the time I'm driving this vehicle) without going forced induction which seems like a waste on this thing. Yes I've seen the WTF - 2GZ-GTE MPV one wheel killer. I have over-sized tires and stock gearing doesn't help and I'm also weighing the cost of switching both ring and pinions out in the differentials. Hoping to gather info on the swap in this thread.

From my understanding the motor mounts are the same and the transmission should "bolt right up". Any truth to that? When I look up torque converters for both vehicles they are NOT the same part number. Nor is the starter, transmission, or a number of other parts I was hoping would translate.

What about the wiring?

Is the MPV Fuel system capable for the 929S engine?

~~~~~~FYI I am very capable with cars. I own 4 and do all my own work on all of them. I have rebuilt engines, am currently doing body work on my 66 C10 (different forum), swapped motors, trannys, rear ends, clutches, every belt driven everything...let's just say I know my way around cars. I know this swap is no easy task and am in the gathering stages and am looking for information first.
