1991 MPV leveler runs constantly

I've got a 1991 MPV with the 3.0L V6. It has 161,000 miles, and no matter what the conditions the automatic leveler is always running. It will run for about 8 seconds, stop for 3 seconds, then start up again over and over. It will do it if i'm driving, parked, idling with or without people in the car. This is very annoying, and it can't be good for the pump. Please help! Thank you.

Another issue:
When i'm driving on the freeway, (55-60 mph) the transmission feels like it's cutting out, and sometimes it'll downshift. I cant go any faster than 60 even when floored. The transmission was replaced less than 2 years ago, with maybe 10,000 miles on it. I don't even know where to begin with this one. I've checked the fluid and it isn't low, discolored, nor does it have any odd smells. The engine was rebuilt around 40,000 miles ago, and has had ignition coil (used), spark plugs, spark wires, cap and rotor replaced recently.

Sounds like the leveler has a leak. Usually the line from the pump to the rear. You have to buy the pump to get the line unless they offer it now.
Sounds like the trans is going in and out of lockup. Possibly the TCC solonoid or it is possible the thermostat could be sticking open which can kick it in and out of overdrive. Years ago to meet EPA emission guidelines requiring quicker warmup times thus lower emission, manufacturers locked overdrive out until fully warmed up. Locking overdrive out meant higher rpms thus quicker warmup times so a stuck open thermostat sometimes caused wierd trans problems such as you describe.

heater problem with 1992 mpv

my 1992 mpv 3.0 L V6 has no heat at the front but the back has heat. i change my thermostat and still the same. next step i disconnected the front heater and blow some air into the core thinking maybe it's clogged up and still no heat at the front but the back still unchange. after this i disconnected the back heater and hooked up only the front just to find out maybe not enough pressure still the same. some people say it could be the water pump so i did replace my water pump and at the same time the timing belt as well. still no heat. i'm still confused don't know where to go from here. any idea would be appreciated. thanks
