Wipers stuck after arm replacement
Hello everyone I am the proud owner of a beautiful 02 silver Millenia with just 93k (I don't drive a lot). I recently had to replace the driver's side wiper arm. Simple enough, but I made the mistake of cycling the wipers while the arm was off. The passenger side wiper parked with a clunk, and did not move after that, and now even with both arms on nothing happens, just a clunk and they both park and do not move again. The wipers were working perfectly before I replaced the arm, so I am thinking that when I cycled the system with just one arm attached it somehow got "out of synch" with itself (or something) Any suggestions? I'm really stumped here. Thanks much.

This is how the wiper assembly looks like:

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Turns out everything is OK... I just pulled the fuse, removed both wiper arms, put the fuse back in, hit the switch, and it works just fine! The connector to the wiper motor has several wires, I am guessing that there is some kind of "park sensor" that needed to reset itself. Moral of the story... don't cycle your wipers with just one arm attached.

Great!
And thanks for the feed back. I learned something. |
