I've got an 02 Millenia I recently purchased and i discovered that the steering wheel adjustment was broken. I have come across this thread

and just wanted to see if anybody here had any other ideas before I start taking off the surrounds to my steering wheel like he suggests in that thread.

My best advice to you is to rethink your purchase. As a Mazda parts person for many years, I can tell you that Millenias are money pits. Most of the parts are ridiculously expensive and the cars are nigh impossible to find in junkyards anymore. Almost everything is Millenia-specific and a lot of stuff is discontinued.
