Default REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Good Evening,
I just purchased a remote for my 99 Millenia that did not come with programming instructions. I have searched all over the net trying to find them. While they are generally the same, none of them seem to be working for me. When the instructions say push any button ont he key fob 2x's, I do that, and there is no chime, and no working remote. What am I doing wrong?

you may have gotten the wrong one. there are 3 remotes. 95, then 96-2000, then 2001-

here is the one you want, notice the fcc id number:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-00...74010141QQrdZ1

here is the later(2001-) one, different fcc id:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-02...74009385QQrdZ1

and, just for grins, here is the 95 one, if you got this one, it goes for big bucks:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995-...74239221QQrdZ1

they are all different frequencies, it is cast into the back of the remote, really small.

Absolutely check the FCC ID as kennin has advised. No match. No work. Nice links to the FOB's by the way kennin.
Here is the correct procedure for remote programming on a 99 Milly.

With all doors closed, turn key to OFF and remove from ignition.
Open the drivers side door.
Insert the ignition key and turn to ON (all dash lights lit) then back to LOCK. ON then back to LOCK. ON then back to LOCK.
Remove ignition key.
Now close and then open the drivers door three times ending with door being open.
You should now hear a single tone or chime from the CPU. This tone informs you that you are now in key programming mode. If you do not get the single tone then you will not be in programming mode. Try above steps again after waiting for a few minutes in no tone/chime was output.
Now press any button on the transmitter 2 times. If signal from transmitter was received then you will again get that single tone. If you do not, then no signal was received. Try a different button.
Repeat the last step for any remaining transmitters.
After ten seconds of programming the last transmitter, the CPU tone will sound 4 times. You are now done.

No, the programming procedure is the same on 01-02 with a few small differences.
Instead of the CPU sounding a tone or chime when entering program mode or successfully programming a remote, the doors will lock and then unlock. The other difference is in the number of remotes that need to be entered. There are three "slots" in the keyless module for remote codes and all three should be filled even if with the same remote fob code. In other words, if you only have one remote fob then program it three times. If you only have two remotes then program one of them twice.
If you do not, you will develop problems such as intermittent no operation or keyless module blanking programmed remote entirely.
